ISSUE

Existing independent living community sought to utilize existing “unbuildable” land to create a recreational trail.

SOLUTION

• Heric managed and executed the:

• Grading and preparation of nearly ½ mile of trail area.

• Stone subbase and asphalt paving.

• Wooden observation deck adjacent to a pond.

RESULTS

The project required strategic planning in order for trucks and equipment to access through wetland areas. 

The project was a success as the trail is used for resident physical therapy and overall wellness.  In addition, a grand opening ceremony was held with Town of Matthews Mayor in attendance.

A future extension is in design!
